The Countdown Begins

T-minus 12 hours until we depart Valparaiso for the first stop. My sweet 1998 Buick Century will be the vehicle of choice on this journey.

The crew will depart the Vale of Paradise about 6 a.m. (hopefully) Central time and will hit The Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati for an afternoon game (Ken Griffey Jr. hit his 599th career home run on Saturday -- what a way to start the trip if he gets 600 on Sunday).

Then the long haul to Baltimore starts. We hope to make it to the home of David Hillhouse and family late Sunday night, when the real adventure begins.

Check back here throughout the trip for photos, audio and video updates from the road.
